Global Career Exchange Inc is a J-1 Intern Sponsor.
Eligibility : Current student studying Hospitality and Tourism or recent graduate
(within 12 months of start date of program to qualify).

- A DS 2019 Form
- Assistance with housing:, but please note: We do not make housing or roommate recommendations, as that decision is made solely by the Intern.
- Travel assistance to USA and Orientation
- Emergency support in USA: However, 911 is the first number to call in the event of a police or medical issue.
Pricing :Program Fees to GCE, Inc.
- Depends on location and length of program. $800-$1800 is paid to GCE, Inc. for your DS sponsorship.
- If you use an agent, agency fees are in addition to the GCE, Inc fees.
Additional Fees- and Living Expenses
- Health Insurance is paid on your behalf in advance. If you have Global Secutive travel insurance it is currently $1.41 per day and is paid in advance for exact dates of DS 2019.
- The amount of insurance paid on your behalf is $1.41 multiplied by the number of days in your program. If you started before 9/30/19, the rates was $1.35 per day
- If your travel insurance company increases premiums while interns are on the program, interns are responsible to remit any increase in premium within 10 days of notice by GCE, Inc or their program will be cancelled.
- SEVIS $220
- Embassy Appointment Fee $160
- No charge for Travel Validation, except for courier fees
- Courier fees to send DS form
- Fees in excess of the GCE, Inc. DS fee ($1000-$1800) and insurance ($1.41 multiplied by number of days in your program program) are the excess fees paid by you to your agent.
- Extensions $750 plus insurance
- Typical Costs: Housing, Utilities, Food, Transportation, Cultural/Fun Activities
- Job duties- internships are only in the field of Hospitality
Lodging, Food and Beverage or Culinary
*Offer Letters are required for each Intern for an Internship
*Minimum number of work hours- 32 hours per week
*Wages and compensation- internships must be paid a least the US Federal Minimum wage AND overtime for work over 40 hours in a week.
*Interns must ask, verify and agree to any Host Employer deductions for housing and/or transportation.
*Most Interns secure their own accommodations and transportation.
*Host Employers must follow the Fair Labor Standards Act
ADDITIONAL ITEMIZED LIST OF FEES EXPENSES ARE TO BE FILLED IN BY INTERN IN THE LIVING EXPENSE FORM
Program Fee Refund Policy & Cancellation Fees
- Withdrawals after issuance of DS 2019 receive program fees less $150*
- In the event of a Visa denial participants receive a refund less $250*
- Withdrawals after issuance of Visa will not receive a refund.
- Travel Health Insurance refunds (if applicable), are prorated as stated in the intern 's statement of purpose and agreement*
